General Information

The CS141 adapters are powerful microcomputers with a new, fast high-performance processor for a wide range of monitoring and control applications in the area of energy and facility management. They serve as communication and control agents between safety-relevant devices and numerous kinds of network-based clients. There are many more possibilities, but the basic scenario for a CS141 adapter is as follows:

• collecting data from an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) by one of its serial ports,
• providing status information on a Web site accessible via the built-in Web server,
• executing user-defined events e.g. shutdown of a whole network of computers via RCCMD in case of a major power fail

The high flexibility and extensibility of the CS141 adapter family is one of its major advantages, allowing for:

• Support for more than 1400 UPS models
• user-notification via email, SMS, network messages
• status reports and event histories
• data analysis and visualization
• scheduling of standard tasks
• Expandable with a SENSORMANAGER, to connect various environmental sensors
